HDFC AMC Q4 results: PAT rises over 9% YoY; firm declares dividend of Rs 48/share

HDFC AMC's standalone net profit rose by more than 9 per cent to Rs 376 crore during the fourth quarter ending in March 2023, as compared to Rs 343 crore in the same period last year. Revenue from operations grew 5 per cent to Rs 541 crore as against Rs 516 crore logged in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.
The total income of the company increased by 10 per cent to Rs 637.8 crore as compared to Rs 580.9 crore registered in the same quarter last year. The company's total expenses during the quarter increased marginally to Rs 146 crore against Rs 138 crore in the year-ago period.
The AMC also announced a dividend of Rs 48 per equity share for the financial year ending March 2023. However, the company clarified in its filing with the exchange that the recommended dividend is subject to the approval of shareholders at the annual general meeting. If approved, the said dividend will be credited to the shareholders.
The company mentioned in its filings that 4.53 million systematic transactions with a value of Rs 17.1 billion were processed during the month of March 2023. As of March 31, 2023, 67 per cent of the company’s total monthly average AUM is contributed by individual investors compared to 58 per cent for the industry.
On a sequential basis, the profit rose by a marginal 2 per cent from Rs 369 crore reported in the preceding December quarter. Revenue fell 3 per cent quarter-on-quarter from Rs 559 crore in Q3FY23.
