The government has found anomalies in the provident fund contributions reported by Kingfisher Airlines and has stated investigations, Bandaru Dattatreya told the Lok Sabha in a written response on Monday.

According to Minister of State for Labour, Kinfisher Airlines allegedly "under-reported compliance in respect of 14 International Workers and there were belated remittances of Provident Fund contribution," the written reply said.

He also said that information about the salary payments and other dues to employees was not maintained centrally by the company. 

The government has also initiated investigations to establish the mismatches in the provident fund collection claims by the company from October 2012 to January 2014, and whether it was deposited to the appropriate authorities. 

For this, the govenmrnt has started proceedings under the Employees’ Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions (EPF & MP) Act, 1952 

He said, "Proceeding under section 7C of the Employees’ Provident Funds & Miscellaneous Provisions (EPF & MP) Act, 1952 to re-determine the escaped amount for the period October, 2012 to January, 2014 has been initiated in respect of 14 International Workers.

For belated remittances of Provident Fund contribution by the company, "proceedings under section 14B and 7Q of EPF & MP Act, 1952 to levy penal damages and interest have been initiated.
