With its opening offer of introducing free high-speed 4G data to its subscribers, Reliance Jio extended its December Happy New Year offer to June 2017.  This offer comes with its own terms and conditions, though.

“The Jio June 2017 Extended Plan will cost you just Rs 100, with which you will be able to enjoy 1GB of 4G internet data and all other free services like unlimited voice calling, SMS, and access to premium apps. So if you’re wondering about how you’re supposed to avail this offer, all you need to do is recharge for Rs 100 and you’re all set!” RJio said on Monday.

The plan clearly states that RJio customers could avail 1GB of 4G data per day; however post its consumption, the speed would cap to 128 Kbps instead.

RJio plan also outlines unlimited calling to any network, unlimited RJio night data offer and unlimited benefits of Jio premium apps.

Terms and conditions of the offer include that in order to avail the extended offer customers would have to have to recharge their Jio sim by Rs 100 every month post March.

The initial 4G data speed will be provided free of cost however the plan states that if a customer wants to extend its 4G speed he/she can do so by recharging the paid plans.

Reliance Jio’s cheapest prepaid plans include Rs 19 recharge per day for 0.1GB unlimited data at night and 0.2 GB for hotspot.

The most expensive prepaid plan is of Rs 299 for a period of 21 days, inclusive of 2GB data at night and 4GB for hotspot (Jio Net). Both plans include unlimited SMS and app usage.

In its post-paid plans RJIo offers Rs 149 for 0.3 GB unlimited data at night and 0.7GB JioNet hotspot. Its plans under this tarrif plan goes up to Rs 1,499 for 20GB unlimited data at night and 40GB JioNet hotspot for every billing cycle.

Upon its offer extension,  Bharti Airtel alleged in its counter complaint filed with the CCI against Reliance Jio Infocomm that the Mukesh Ambani-led firm was "abusing dominant position" and resorting to "predatory pricing" with free internet service to eliminate competition from other companies.

According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), no telecom company can extend its offer for more than a period of 90 days.
