Flipkart Big Billion Days Sale: E-commerce giant hires 50,000 people
Ahead of the festive season and Big Billion Days sales, e-commerce company Flipkart said that it added over 50,000 direct jobs across its supply chain, logistics arm and customer support.
Ahead of the festive season and Big Billion Days sales, e-commerce company Flipkart said that it added over 50,000 direct jobs across its supply chain, logistics arm and customer support. Besides that, the company said that it will increase the indirect jobs through the seller network by 30 percent as compared to last year. It will create 6.5 lakh indirect jobs during the festive season sale, Flipkart said.
According to an IANS report, the directly employed workforce is spread across the supply chain, from Flipkart Wishmasters to personnel in warehouses, mother hubs and delivery hubs. The annual six-day Big Billion Days sales event begins on September 29, 2019.

"The Big Billion Days are designed to add value to the lives of our customers, by providing them with a great selection and an optimum shopping experience during the much-awaited festival season," Flipkart Group CEO Kalyan Krishnamurthy was quoted as saying.
Flipkart said with new employment opportunities across geographies and the prospect of scaling the sellers' businesses, it aims to stimulate local industries.
The company said that these new recruits will be trained in various aspects of the supply chain including handling PoS machines, hand-held devices, various mobile applications, scanners, and ERPs (enterprise resource planning), besides that delivery and installation and finer aspects of customer service. Flipkart Big Billion Days Sales 2019 will begin from September 29 and will continue until October 4.
