Fire accident at Biocons' one Syngene Lab, shares tumble
It said, "Syngene is in the process of assessing the extent of damage to the building and equipment and also implementating a business continuity plan to minimize impact on operations."
Biocon on Tuesday said, a fire accident took place last night in one of its laboratory building at Syngene International.
The company assured that the fire has been brought under control and reported no loss of life or any injury.
It said, "Syngene is in the process of assessing the extent of damage to the building and equipment and also implementating a business continuity plan to minimize impact on operations."
Other facilities at Syngene were not impacted and will continue to operate as normal.
On Tuesday, the shares of Biocon was trading at Rs 932 per share on BSE, down by 0.74%. However, the shares have almost tanked near Rs 924-mark.
While shares of Syngene International tumbled over Rs 39.05 or 6.18%, trading at Rs 594.
