DTH service provider Dish TV India on Monday reported a nearly 14-fold jump in consolidated net profit at Rs 482.77 crore for the March quarter on account of deferred tax expense of Rs 402.90 crore.

The company had posted a net profit of Rs 34.94 crore for the January-March period of 2014-15 fiscal.

Dish TV's net income from operation rose 9.57% to Rs 797.4 crore in the same quarter of 2015-16 fiscal as against Rs 727.7 crore in the year-ago period, the company said in a Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) filing.

The company's Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) stood at Rs 174 compared with Rs 172 in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal.

For the 2015-16 fiscal, Dish TV reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 692.42 crore as against Rs 3.14 crore in the preceding fiscal.

Its net sales/income from operation stood at Rs 3,050.72 crore in the fiscal compared with Rs 2,679.51 crore in 2014-15.

The shares of Dish TV India closed down 5.82% or Rs 5.45 at Rs 88.25 per scrip on the BSE.
