The Indian smartphone shipments fell for the first time in history as it contracted by 4% year on year (YoY). Smartphone shipments in India were just under 27 million units in Q2 2017, according to Canalys report.

The reason for this fall in smartphone shipments is due to the confusion over the goods and service tax (GST) and lack of awareness about the changes that are needed.
