Looks like the state-owned Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has decided to not rest as the telecom market continues to rain with heavy and unlimited data offers. To stay afloat in the business and take on other telcos, BSNL has launched various offers in past two weeks, and in the latest move the company has introduced another recharge pack of Rs 429 which will compete against Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel offers. Rs 429 plan of BSNL gives unlimited Local, STD and roaming Calls. It also offers 100 SMS per day.The key highlight of the offer is that it will give 1GB data per day for a validity period of 180 days. Also there are freebies which will be revealed once you recharge the pack, however they are available till 81 days.

However, the offer is not available in cities like Mumbai and Delhi. Also one important thing is that BSNL gives internet in only 3G network.

With the above offer, BSNL is giving a whopping 180GB data.

Now this plan takes on Airtel and Reliance Jio’s Rs 448 recharge pack. There are no 1GB data per day pack offered by Airtel and RJio, in value terms the Rs 448 pack competes with BSNL’s Rs 429.

Airtel and RJio’s Rs 448 pack gives similar unlimited calls and SMS offer like BSNL. However, Airtel through the pack is giving 1.4GB data per day for a validity period of 82 days, whereas RJio is giving 2GB data per day for a period 84 days in the same pack.

In total, Airtel is giving 114.8GB data and RJio is providing 168GB data. Therefore, BSNL surpasses the two telcos in terms of data, validity period and value.

Further if we look at RJio and Airtel’s offer for a period of 180 days. BSNL still is giving better offer.

Airtel gives 1GB data per day for a period of 180 days under recharge pack of Rs 995, whereas RJio offers total 125GB data for 180 days under a pack of Rs 1,999.

Considering above, BSNL’s Rs 429 pack is better than RJio and Airtel.

With the launch of new data packs BSNL has managed to stay afloat in telecom’s heavy data, unlimited voice calls market.

Recent TRAI data revealed, RJio once again ruled in terms of net addition of wireless subscribers by adding 8.74 million people under its ambit during February 2018. Meanwhile, the rivals managed to add only half of what the Mukesh Ambani-led company has recorded during the month.

At the second spot was Idea with net addition of 4.42 million subscribers, followed by Bharti with 4.17 million subscribers and Vodafone with 3.24 million subscribers.

Apart from these top four telecom-giant, it was only state-owned BSNL who managed to see positive performance by adding over 80 lakh net subscribers.

BSNL has also introduced three new recharge packs (Rs 118, Rs 379 and Rs 551)  for prepaid customers providing somewhat similar offers like its peers.

The state-owned company has taken advantage of Indian Premier League with a 153 GB mobile data pack for Rs 258 with a validity of 51 days.
