Coal India's net profit drops by 38% to Rs 2,717 crore in Q4FY17
During the quarter, Coal India's revenue stood at Rs 24,780 crore as against Rs 22,813.02 crore in Q4FY16.
Coal India on Monday announced its financial results for the quarter ended on March 31. The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 2717.86 crore, a drop of 38.2% as against Rs 4399.50 crore during the same period last year.
For the full financial year, Coal India posted a net profit of Rs 9267.75 crore as against Rs 14,267.93 crore in the previous financial year.
During the quarter, the company's revenue stood at Rs 24,780 crore as against Rs 22,813.02 crore in Q4FY16. The total expense in Q4FY17 was Rs 22,357.54 crore as compared to Rs 18,173.8 crore in Q4FY16.
During the quarter, the company's production stood at 176.37 million tonne as against 165.24 million tonne in Q4FY16. For the full fiscal, the production stood at 554.14 million tonne as compared to 538.75 million tonne in FY16.
The shares of the company closed at Rs 267.65 per piece, down 0.26% or Rs 0.70 on BSE.
