BSNL offer priced at Rs 258 launched; with cheapest 153 GB data pack, telco guns for Reliance Jio

BSNL offer: With the Indian Premier League all set to start, telcos are rushing to provide data packs that cater to cricket lovers hunger for news and clips of the matches as they happen. Considering that the matches will last for over a month and the excitement will keep building up with each and every match, the data requirements will shoot up significantly across India. While Reliance Jio had come up with its data pack plus prizes  scheme a few days ago, state-run telecom firm BSNL, has rolled out its own plan now. Joining the race to cash in on popular IPL tournament BSNL on Friday announced a 153 GB mobile data pack for Rs 258 with a validity of 51 days.

A statement by the telco says, "BSNL presents IPL pack Unlimited data STV-248 for prepaid mobile customers which give unlimited data (3 GB data per day) with validity of 51 days during period of IPL cricket match. This will be useful for our subscriber to stream live IPL matches at a very economical rate," the state-run firm said.

A day earlier, Reliance Jio had announced a 102 GB data pack priced at Rs 251 during the upcoming cricket season. Bitter rival Bharti Airtel on Friday said it will provide free live streaming of IPL matches through Hotstar on its TV app. So which one is best? Well, at Rs 258 for 153 GB, this BSNL offer is the cheapest. The difference will be felt in quality as BSNL offers only 3G network across India while Reliance Jio has a 4G service.

According to the statement by BSNL, the offers are for a  limited period and is available from April 7, 2018 to 30 April 2018. It will be available on a pan India basis.
