BSNL’s broadband connection has been a key to the success of this beleaguered PSU's story. The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has just rebranded its Rs 1199 BSNL Family Plan, wherein one mobile connection with a broadband connectivity was offered earlier. The same plan has now come in new avataar. BSNL provides both broadband and mobile connections across the length and breadth of the country.

Using its telecom and wired broadband services, the BSNL Family Plan is offering a broadband connection of 10 Mbps with FUP of 30GB only. Under this plan, a user can combine three BSNL prepaid connections, and avail 1GB of data per day for the validity period.

According to Telecomtalk, BSNL is also providing free BSNL tune, but the voice calls on its prepaid network will be charged as per the standard rates only. The Rs 1199 BBG Combo ULD Family reportedly offers a 10 Mbps broadband connection per month with FUP of 30GB. Post the FUP, the users would be able to get download speeds of 2 Mbps for the rest of the month.

Under this BSNL Family Plan, Telecomtalk said, users will need to choose three BSNL prepaid numbers to avail the free mobile services. Each number will reportedly be able to avail unlimited voice calls, including roaming calls and 1GB data per day, but after exhausting 1GB data, they will get 40 Kbps data speed.

Earlier, the same plan offered 1GB data for all the three numbers and that too for the entire plan validity period. The BSNL has now decided to offer 1GB data per day for all the three BSNL connections, without SMS benefits.

The revised plan, effective from April 1, 2018, is likely to help the telco add more broadband/telecom subscribers.

Maintaining its competitive edge, BSNL has recently introduced a prepaid Rs 98 tariff plan to offer 39GB of data for 26 days. The new plan, 'Data Tsunami' pack, introduced on the eve of World Telecom Day, customers can recharge across the country, and also by visiting third-party recharge portals.
