It is a war zone in telecom market and state-owned BSNL is not ready to put down its armour against its private sector rivals. It has been now revealed that BSNL has revised its premium fiber broadband plans and is now providing high speed internet alongside free calling. The BSNL’s FTTH broadband plans that have gone under revision are Fibro Combo ULD 3999, Fibro Combo ULD 5999, Fibro Combo ULD 9999 & Fibro Combo ULD 16999. According to TelecomTalk report, we’ve got to know that BSNL has increased the FUP limit of its fibre broadband plans more than 4x times in all circles.

Under Fibro Combo ULD 3999, BSNL is offering 500GB FUP WITH 50Mbps after which reportedly the speed goes down to 4Mbps. Earlier, this plan offered a total 300GB data at a speed of 20Mbps with speed being 2Mbps.

Further, the Fibro Combo ULD 5999 plan gives now 1000GB pre-FUB data with a speed of 60Mbps. This will go down to 4Mbps once exhausted. This plan used to offer 400GB data with 30Mbps speed.

Meanwhile, the Fibro Combo ULD 9999 will give you 2000GB data having a speed of 80Mbps which will come down to 6Mbps once exhausted. This used to offer a total 600GB data at 50Mbps speed.

Finally, the Fibro Combo ULD 16999 will give you a massive 3000GB data with 100Mbps speed where post FUP exhaustion the speed will go down to 8Mbps. Earlier, it gave 800GB data with 100Mbps.

Additionally, while revising the existing fibro plans, BSNL has also introduced two new low-budget Fibre broadband plans. These new ones are Fibro Combo ULD 777 & Fibro Combo ULD 1277.  The FTTH 777 plan gives 500GB data with a speed of 50Mbps along with unlimited calls at any network. Whereas, the Fibro Combo ULD 1277 offers 750GB data at a 100Mbps speed. These two plans are active till September 09, 2018 for BSNL customers.

In its 41st AGM meet, parent Reliance Industries has announced launch of Reliance Jio Gigafiber starting from August 15th.

JIO GIGAFIBER will be the largest greenfield fixed-line broadband rollout anywhere in the world, with rollout happening in 1,100 cities of India simultaneously.

However, there is not much clarity mentioned in Jio Gigafiber which is set to come. Right now it is being run as beta trials in tens of thousands of homes.

It needs to be noted that BSNL is not alone to react on RJio’s Gigafiber plan, recently telecom giant Bharti Airtel also revised its entire broadband plans to compete against the upcoming offer of Mukesh Ambani-led company.
