Reliance Jio has been giving a tough time to all the other telcos. The launch of its JioGigaFiber plan has again forced others to revamp their broadband plans. Recently, Airtel launched unlimited FUP plans. The next in line to ramp-up the competition is BSNL. The state-run telco has now revised its Rs 699 plan.

After the modification, BSNL will offer faster downloads and higher FUP. Since the Rs 699 plan is available to Chennai circle users, the move will be beneficial only for them for now. BSNL has similar plans for other circles as well and the costs vary from Rs 695 and Rs 799.

BSNL has increased the FUP limit of Rs 699 to 700GB from earlier 100GB  and has doubled the download speed to 20Mbps from 10Mbps. 

The plan offers a speed of 2Mbps once the FUP limit is exhausted.

The plan comes with bundled with a fixed line voice calling service. The plan also offers unlimited free calling (Local+STD) on any network within India. A user opting for any BSNL broadband plan has to pay one month's fee as a security deposit in addition to the monthly charges.

Jio has been running a preview offer for its GigaFiber.
