Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has said that state-owned BSNL registered the highest growth in terms of new subscribers for the month of February 2016. Subscriber base of BSNL grew by 1.67% in February as against 1.18% of Airtel, 1.04% of Vodafone, 0.85% of Idea Cellular and 0.71% and 0.69% of Aircel and Reliance Communications, respectively.

However, in terms of net additions (new customers added minus customers that terminate a service with the carrier) for February Bharti Airtel gained the maximum of 29 lakh subscibers. It was followed by

Vodafone with 20.34 lakh net additions and Idea with 14.63 net additions. BSNL came in third with 13.93 lakh net additions.

Bharti Airtel continues to be the market leader in India with nearly one in every four of the over one billion wireless subscribers on its network. Vodafone and Idea cellular occupy the second and third spot on this table. 

Reliance had a market share of 9.93%, while Aircel stood at 8.44% followed by BSNL comes with 8.26% market share.
