Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), the state-run engineering firm, witnessed a significant widening of its consolidated net loss to Rs 343.89 crore in the April-June quarter compared to the same period last year, primarily due to increased expenses. As per the BSE filing, the company had reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 187.99 crore in the quarter ending on June 30, 2022.

During the quarter, BHEL's total expenses rose to Rs 5,595.47 crore, marking a notable increase from Rs 5,006.50 crore in the corresponding period a year ago. However, the total income of the company also saw growth, reaching Rs 5,117.20 crore compared to Rs 4,742.28 crore in the same period the previous year.
