BHEL bags Rs 1,600 crore thermal power project in Odisha
The company won the project from the joint venture of NTPC-SAIL.
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has won an order worth Rs 1,600 crore for the setting up a coal-based thermal power project in Odisha. The 1x250 MW coal-based thermal unit will be set up at Rourkela Power Project on Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) basis.
The order has been placed by a joint venture of NTPC and SAIL.
BHEL's scope of work in the project includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning of the thermal power plant.
At 1409 hours the stock on the Sensex was however trading down 1.47% or Rs 1.80 at Rs 120.90 per piece.
