Telecom sector has witnessed a tremendous shift as citizens' demand for heavy data and unlimited calling appetite is increasing with each passing day. Already facing a cut-throat competition, the telecom companies, therefore, have been revising their pre and post paid plans to retain their consumers, offering them cheap rates. The latest offer has come from Bharti Airtel, which has revised its prepaid recharge plan of Rs 398 to compete against Reliance Jio’s Rs 398 prepaid plan.

Airtel’s Rs 398 prepaid plan differs from its Rs 399 prepaid plan, although marginally, because the newly introduced plan offers better value than the existing Rs 399 prepaid plan, said a Telecom talk report, adding that it has been introduced across all the 22 telecom circles in the country.

Under this new plan, Airtel prepaid customers will reportedly get 1.5GB data per day, unlimited voice calling along with 90 SMS per day for a period of 70 days. Like Reliance Jio, Airtel is also providing unlimited local, STD and national roaming calls within India and there’s no limit on how many calls an individual is making.

Airtel has been offering a prepaid plan of Rs 399 with a validity of 70 days and 84 days, but it is reportedly a segmented offer. One can get Rs 399 plan for 84 days, and also for just 70 days. Notably, Airtel's Rs 399 recharge gives unlimited voice calls, 1.4GB of daily data and 100 SMS per day, but the new Rs 398 plan is offering 1.5GB data for all.

Reliance Jio too is offering a similar plan of Rs 398, which falls under the company’s 2GB daily data tariff plan. Under this prepaid plan, Jio is giving 2GB data per day, unlimited voice calls without any capping and 100 text messages every day for 70 days.
