Bajaj Auto's April sales decline 2% on large dip in commercial vehicle

Bajaj Auto sales in April 2016 declined by 2% at total domestic sales during the month slipped to 3,30,109 units from 3,36,274 units during the same month the previous year.
This was largely due to a large fall in its commercial vehicle sales which plunged by 24% in April 2016. The company said sales in commercial vehicles dipped to 38,211 units from 50,483 units in April 2015.
However, Motorcycle sales posted a 2% rise during the month. The company sold 2,91,898 units in April 2016 from 2,85,791 units in April last year.
Exports of the company took a large hit as sales were down by 36%. The company's exports declined in April 2016 to 1,03,976 units from 1,61,598 units in the same period last year.
