Bajaj Auto Q2 results: The country's leading 2-wheeler maker reported its quarterly performance today. PAT at the company soared 21 per cent on-year to Rs 2,216 crore. However, after adjusting for the cumulative one-time impact on Deferred Tax on Investment Income, due to the withdrawal of indexation and change in tax rate in the Finance Act, 2024 was at Rs 2,005 crore.

In the same quarter last year, the company reported a standalone PAT of Rs 1,836 crore.14 crore, a 9 per cent on-year gain.

The company's second-quarter revenue came in at Rs 13100 crore, while the same was at Rs 10,880 crore in the same period last year. 

Revenue during the quarter surged to 22 per cent YoY arising from new highs on both vehicles and spares o underpinned by double digit volume growth on the back of yet another robust domestic performance and a steady recovery of exports, further buoyed by a richer sales mix.

The standalone EBITDA for the review period came in at Rs 2,653 crores, growing a solid 24 per cent YoY.

"Dynamic management of the business enabled margins to be held constant while offsetting the drag from the significant step up of e2Ws and commodity inflation; the +40 bps YoY accretion was driven primarily by favourable currency and operating leverage," noted the company's release.

Zee Business Research estimated standalone net profit of Rs 2,275 crore for the quarter ended September 30, which translates to an increase of 24 per cent over the corresponding period a year ago. The analysts estimate its second-quarter revenue at Rs 13,250 crore, marking growth of 23 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

The company added that its Green Energy portfolio scales up to reach new milestones; around 100,000 total units were sold in Sept, while 100,000 electric vehicles were sold in the quarter.

The portfolio comprising of electric and CNG vehicles across both the 2W and 3W portfolio, now contributes a significant 40 per cent of total domestic revenues - a testament of the company's strategy being translated into action.
