Baba Ramdev’s Kimbho app removed from Google Play Store, here’s why
Kimbho app was made available for download at Android and iOS mobile platform.
Baba Ramdev led Patanjali Kimbho app has become talk of the town. Pitched as desi rival, a virtual WhatsApp killer, the messaging app was launched on Wednesday, but taken down from Google Play Store just a day after on Thursday. Patanjali Yogpeeth spokesperson SK Tijarawala has explained the reason behind removing the app. Tijarawala tweeted saying that, the Kimbho app was available for only 1 day as a trial basis. He even pointed out that the popularity of this app was massive as within 3 hours it saw 1.5 lakh downloads.
Tijarawala said, “Technical work is in progress & #KIMBHO APP will be officially launched soon @yogrishiramdev.”

He further tweeted saying, “Our trial version of #kimbho app is no longer available for download on any platform. We don't take any responsibility for many dulicate apps showing on anywhere. Beware! आम सूचना..!”

After launching a Swadeshi Samriddhi SIM cards in alliance with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), the Patanjali guru Ramdev stirred competition in social media network by launching Kimbho app to take on WhatsApp.
Kimbho app was made available for download at Android and iOS mobile platform.
On Google Playstore, Kimbho was defined as an app which empowers private group chat with free phone and video calling. It has dozens of amazing features to share text audio, photos, videos, stickers, quickies, location, GIF, Doodle and more.
To procedure to have Kimbho app is somewhat similar like downloading WhatsApp on Playstore and iOS platforms.
Faisal Kawoosa, Head New Initiatives, CyberMedia Research (CMR) on his twitter account highlighted issues regarding the Kimbho app. He said, “Can #kimbho create a space dominated by @WhatsApp just on being #swadeshi So far just around 5k installations and reviews are full of issues and concerns. Nevertheless, seems Patanjali is getting serious about communications.”

Here’s a list of features the Kimbho app represents.
- The app is supporting real-time messaging service which is powered by advance socket technology.
- It has security features which can ensure encrypted messaging by AES.
- The app also supports supports ghost chatting, auto delete chatting, wipe out features.
- A user of this app can block other users, leave of block conversation.
- There is also quickies available on this app, which means a user can send quick messages and replies from templates of messages.
- Having similar options like WhatsApp, one can also share and use custom themes and wallpapers for the app.
- Further a user will be allowed to share photos, video, photo, doodle, music files, sticker, gif, location, links, contacts and other files.
Aditi Kamal who is an Indian software engineer based in the US, is the woman behind Patanjali’s Kimbho app touted as WhatsApp killer. She is a former Google techie. The 32-year-old Aditi Kamal headed Google Hangouts as a team leader. She has even worked at Yahoo Mail and Oracle too.
It is being known that, Kimbho app will be launched on June 21 on International Day of Yoga.
