Cook has been in India to inaugurate the first Apple stores in the country. He met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, and later met with telecom, IT, and railways minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and minister of state for IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar.
The Apple CEO has also been meeting India's top business tycoons, mainly from the telecom sector. Apart from Mittal, Cook had also met Reliance Industries chairman, Mukesh Ambani, and Tata Sons chairman, N Chandrasekaran, in Mumbai.

Apple has a strategic partnership with Reliance Jio, Vodafone, and Airtel India. In 2022, senior executives from Apple and Bharti Airtel met to discuss the rollout timeline for software updates to 5G-enabled iPhones and how the new Apple iPhone can support the Indian telco's 5G network.
As Cook inaugurated India's first two Apple stores in Mumbai and Delhi on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively, people in hordes could be seen outside the stores to get a glimpse of the Apple CEO. Cook even met a five-year-old coder who came to visit the Delhi store in Saket's SelectCity Mall.
There has been significant enthusiasm among the masses, with people waiting in queues for up to 3 hours to enter the Apple store. Many people reached to see Cook much before the opening ceremony in Mumbai and New Delhi.
