Amazon India reduces selling fees by up to 12% ahead of festive season easing costs for sellers
While the timing of the fee cuts aligns with the upcoming festive season, Amazon clarified that these changes are not just temporary measures. The fee reduction is expected to provide sellers with an opportunity to optimise their operations ahead of the Diwali shopping rush and continue benefiting beyond the festive period.
Amazon India has announced a reduction of up to 12% in selling fees across multiple product categories on its marketplace, just in time for the festive season.
The fee reductions, effective from September 9, are aimed at empowering sellers to expand their product portfolios and boost growth, according to the company. The new rate structure is particularly advantageous for sellers offering products priced below Rs 500.
"With the changes, sellers on Amazon India will benefit from a drop in selling fees, ranging from 3% to 12% across various product categories," Amazon India stated.
Amit Nanda, Director of Selling Partner Services at Amazon India, emphasised that the fee reduction is a direct response to feedback from sellers, especially small businesses. "At Amazon, we are committed to supporting businesses of all sizes, from small and medium enterprises to emerging entrepreneurs and established brands," Nanda said.

The fee reduction is expected to provide sellers with an opportunity to optimise their operations ahead of the Diwali shopping rush and continue benefiting beyond the festive period.
"Sellers, particularly those offering affordable products, will experience a significant decrease in fees on Amazon. This will give them the opportunity to reinvest in their business for accelerated growth," Nanda added.
