Airtel prepaid users will get 50% data back during "happy hours"
To give competition to Reliance Jio, which may launch its 4G services by next month, Airtel is taking measures to maintain its market share.
After launching the "open network", Bharti Airtel has now introduced 'happy hours' service for prepaid customers.
On Thursday, the company announced that the prepaid customers will be allowed to get back 50% of the data used in all application content downloads between 3am and 5am.
The users can also schedule their downloads during the happy hours, the company said.
“While customers get the benefit of convenience and value, developers can look forward to higher in-app content uptake. We invite all app developers to leverage this innovative product,” Ajai Puri, director – operations (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel, said in a statement.
Further, the company said that along with the users, the within happy hours, the app developers can schedule upgrades, heavy videos downloads like videos, photo albums, music albums, etc by partnering with Airtel.
