Bharti Airtel has come up with a new prepaid plan to take on rivals - Reliance Jio and Vodafone. The new Airtel prepaid plan has been priced at Rs 169 and offers customers with 1GB of 4G or 3GB data per day along with unlimited national calls and 100 messages per day.
The validity of the prepaid plan is 28 days. The new Airtel prepaid plan is live on the Airtel website as well as the application and the customers can purchase it from either platforms. The plan has been introduced just one week after Vodafone launched its new recharge pack.
The new Vodafone plan is priced at Rs 169 and offers 1GB data per day along with 100 messages each day and unlimited calls. This offer is valid for 28 days too! Hence, both these recharge provides 28 GB of data benefit for the period these are valid for.
However, Vodafone has a Fair Usage Policy (FUP), which applies a maximum limit of 250 minutes per day or 1000 minutes per week on calling. Once this limit is exhausted, the customers need to pay 1.2 paise per second or Re 1 per minute to continue using the calling services.
Also, if the customers exhaust the daily 1GB data limit, the internet speed will be restricted and Vodafone will charge 50 paise per MB for browsing further. Both the above-mentioned plans are also in direct competition with Reliance Jio's Rs 149 prepaid plan which comes with unlimited calling, 1.5GB of 4G data and 100 text messages per day.
This plan offers a total benefit of 42 GB data which is more than what's offered by the other two telecom operators. Earlier this week, Airtel had also revised its Rs 199 prepaid plan which now offers 1.5GB data per day for 28 days. This means the customers get a total of 42GB data during the validity of the plan.
