Airtel introduces new schemes as low as Rs 5 to compete with Jio
Airtel has started offering its customers new plans that start from as low as Rs 5 and go up to Rs 995 per plan.

India’s telecom major has doled out new prepaid plans which start as low as Rs 5 in some circles.
Airtel is offering its subscribers plans for as low as Rs 5 right up till Rs 995.
However the price of these plans vary from circle to circle of the operator and will be available to only certain users within that circle as it is a ‘segmented plan.’
The Rs 5 plan included 4GB 3G/4G data for seven days. However these offers would be valid only after 4G SIM upgradation. This recharge would be valid for one time only.
Other segmented plans also include a Rs 8 plan to only certain users. The Rs 8 plan offers customers local plus STD mobile calls at 30 paise per minute for 56 days.
Here are all the plans that the company is offering for its Mumbai circle.
Rs 31 plan: STD mobile calls at 25 paise per minute for 28 days.
Rs 33 plan: Local mobile calls at 30 paise per minute for 28 days.
Rs 47 plan: This plan gives Rs 47 full talktime for 10 days.
Rs 65 plan: Rs 61 full talktime with no stated period of validity.
Rs 195 plan: Unlimited local plus STD calls. In addition customers will get 1GB 4G/3G data for 28 days.
Rs 396 plan: 3GB 4G/3G data for 28 days.
Rs 399 plan: Unlimited local plus STD calls plus 1GB data per day for 84 days (on 4G handsets and 4G SIM cards only).
Rs 499 plan: 4GB 4G/3G plus 6GB additional data on 4G handsets plus 4G SIM for 28 days.
Rs 799 plan: Unlimited local plus STD calls plus 84GB data (3GB per day) 28 days.
Rs 995 plan: Unlimited local plus STD calls plus 112GB data (4GB per day) 28 days.
The company is also offering 5% cashback with Airtel Payments Bank, up to Rs 25 per transaction.
Since these plans are segmented, customers can check if they are eligible to receive these recharges on Airtel’s official website.
Customers need to click on ‘recharge prepaid mobile’ option on its site and type in their Airtel prepaid number to avail of these recharges.
The company said its ‘Most favourite recharges,’ were the Rs 50 pack which offered talktime of Rs 39.37 and unlimited validity and the Rs 252 plan which offered 1.5GB 4G/3G Happy Hours Night data pack.
