Air India on Friday announced the appointment of Sanjay Sharma as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with effect from June 10, 2024. Sharma succeeds Vinod Hejmadi, who is retiring after more three decades with Air India.
 
Sharma, who will report to Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson, has more than three decades of experience in corporate finance, investment banking and real estate, the airline said in a press release.

Sanjay Sharma 

Sharma joins Air India from Tata Projects Ltd where he was CFO. Prior to Tata Projects, he was CFO of Tata Realty Infrastructure Ltd, and Managing Director, Head of Equity Capital Markets at Deutsche Bank Group. Prior to that, he worked in various capacities at DSP Merrill Lynch Ltd in Mumbai and Merrill Lynch Asia Pacific in Hong Kong.

“We also thank Vinod for his long service to the Company, and for his vital role in its transition to private ownership and, thereafter, its subsequent transformation,” Wilson added. 

The Tata group took control of Air India from the government in January 2022.
