Air India expands operations; adds new flights from New Delhi to Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and Milan
With the addition of these flights, the airline will now operate 80 flights a week to and from seven key points in mainland Europe, including Amsterdam Schiphol, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Milan Malpensa, Paris CDG, Vienna, and Zurich.
Global airline Air India on Friday announced the expansion of its European operations to three routes: from Delhi to Amsterdam Schiphol, Delhi to Copenhagen, and Delhi to Milan Malpensa, starting June 22.
This strategic move follows Air India's recent launch of daily non-stop flights to Zurich from June 16, 2024, alongside its existing daily services to Frankfurt and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG).
Campbell Wilson, CEO and MD of Air India, emphasised the significance of expanding the airline's global route network.
He stated, "The increased frequency to Europe demonstrates the growing demand for travel between India and Europe, and we are committed to providing our customers with greater choice and convenience."
Furthermore, Wilson highlighted the broader implications of these new flights, noting that they would strengthen trade and tourism ties while providing seamless connectivity for travellers between Europe, the Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia.
“These new flights will not only strengthen trade and tourism ties but also offer seamless connectivity to travellers from Europe to other countries in the Indian Subcontinent and Southeast Asia (and vice versa) via our Delhi hub," Air India, MD, said.
With the addition of these flights, the airline will now operate 80 flights a week to and from seven key points in mainland Europe, including Amsterdam Schiphol, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, Milan Malpensa, Paris CDG, Vienna, and Zurich.
All flights to mainland Europe will be serviced by the company's two-class configured Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, which includes 18 beds in Business Class and 236 seats in Economy Class.
