Previously, both airlines had entered an Interline Considerations on Irregular Operations (IROPs) agreement, allowing them to transfer both domestic and international customers to each other in the event of a disruption in flight operations involving either airline. The agreement allows airport teams from both airlines to provide alternate first available flights, reducing passenger discomfort.
Prior to this, Air India and AirAsia India had entered into a two-year agreement with AirAsia India.
Speaking of the interline partnership, Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD, Air India, said: “We are pleased with our interline partnership with Vistara, which will provide greater connectivity and convenience to our joint customers travelling within and outside of India on both our expanding route networks."
