After MobiKwik, Paytm now launches cashless services for feature phone users
The move comes a majority of Indian users still use feature phones, especially in rural India.
Paytm finally announced a service for feature phone users to use their mobile wallet services. The company said this service will be able for non-smartphone users and those consumers and merchants without an internet connection to pay and receive money instantly and also recharge their mobile phones.
The user have to dial a toll-free number 180018001234 to use the service. In the first step, customers and merchants need to register with Paytm with their mobile number and set their 4 Digit Paytm PIN. They can then enter the recipient’s mobile number, amount and their Paytm PIN to successfully transfer the money from their Paytm wallet to another Paytm wallet.

This announcement Paytm comes after rival mobile wallet company launched 'MobiKwik Lite' for feature phone users. This decision by mobile wallet companies had come after demonetisation hit the country last month and nearly 50% of Indians still use feature phones on which mobile wallets services were not accessible.
