Now, Lucknow residents can avail facility of electric buses; thanks to Tata Motors and Yogi government
The country is making a steady move towards an electric vehicle fleet for its public transport. Now, Lucknow has become the latest city to get into this trend. Lucknow City Transport Services Ltd (LCTSL) has partnered with Tata Motors to supply 40 electric buses to run into the city within the next four months. The auto maker says that they determined to develop alternative fuel technologies to create more energy efficient vehicles supporting the government’s efforts for promoting electric vehicles in the country.
Ultra 9m AC Electric bus
Towards the new shift, the country's very first Ultra 9m AC Electric bus was inaugurated on Sunday in Lucknow by the Minister of Urban Development, Suresh Kumar Khanna and Mayor Lucknow, Sanyukta Bhatia with dignitaries from LCTSL and Tata Motors. Ultra Electric bus
The company claims that the Ultra Electric buses will have a travelling range of up to 150 kilometres on a single charge. The Ultra Electric buses have modern interiors and air-conditioned having comfortable seats for 31 passengers. As an industry first, there will be air suspension for both front and rear axles to make travel more comfortable for the commuters. Charging station
The company has installed a charging station at the Alambagh depot for fast charging. Li-ion batteries have been placed on the rooftop to prevent breakdown due to waterlogging.
