Xiaomi SU7 electric car: On the occasion of its 10th anniversary in India, Xiaomi recently showcased its Xiaomi SU7 Electric Vehicle (EV). This is the maiden public display of the flagship product by the Chinese company in India, while also offering an experience of the “Human x Car x Home” smart ecosystem.

The highly anticipated Xiaomi SU7 is officially referred to as a "full-size high performance eco-technology sedan" which is the first in the line of the Xiaomi EV range which is expected to be expanded in future.

Alongside the Xiaomi SU7 design, Xiaomi has developed five core EV technologies: E-Motor, CTB Integrated Battery, Xiaomi Die-Casting, Xiaomi Pilot Autonomous Driving, and Smart Cabin.

The Xiaomi SU7 Max - the top variant of the series - features 673 PS of power as well as a maximum range of 800 km on a single charge. The Xiaomi SU7 Max with 838 nm of torque can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 2.78 seconds and tops out at an 265 km/h.

According to the company,  it has a top level braking system which is capable of bringing the car to a standstill from 100 km/h within a distance of just 33.3 metres. It features a steel-aluminium alloy armoured cage and is equipped with a comprehensive suite of 16 active safety features that provide 360° protection.

The vehicle also features a 16.1-inch 3K ultra-clear central control screen, a large 56-inch HUD, and a rotating dashboard for a welcoming ceremony every time it is started. It supports connecting Xiaomi tablets as additional screens, creating a 5-screen linkage in the car.

While the showcase has been backed with extensive marketing and promotion of the product and company’s aspiration, the officials have clarified that the Xiaomi SU7 was brought to India solely for showcase purposes. It is not for sale in the Indian market.

Xiaomi, a prominent Chinese electronics company, entered the Indian market in 2014 and quickly became a dominant player in the smartphone segment. Known for its affordable yet feature-rich smartphones under the Redmi and Mi brands, Xiaomi has expanded its portfolio in India to include a wide range of products. These include smart TVs, fitness bands, earphones, power banks, and various smart home devices.
