Audi India head Balbir Singh Dhillon said that BS-VI era will be started with petrol only, across all models, however, diesel is still not completely out of the picture. Going forward Audi will launch only petrol cats and the company will also have electric cars coming to India. Completely exiting diesel is something is still on Audi's drawing board, he added.

Earlier also, Audi had stated its intentions from pulling off from diesel technology as the future is in electric and hybrid vehicles, especially in India. According to Audi, the government has allowed the carmaker to use certain imported cars, i.e 2,500 cars annually without homologation (conformity with Indian regulations). Those are the spaces around which Audi will be focusing in the near future.
