Volkswagen Passenger Cars India launched the all-new Taigun. The Volkswagen Taigun is the brands’ much-awaited SUVW. The price starts at Rs 10,49,900.
The Volkswagen Taigun is the brand’s first product under the India 2.0 Project. A mid-size SUVW built on the MQB A0 IN platform with a robust presence, striking exteriors, premium interiors, digital cockpit, safety, and infotainment features. The variant line-ups and prices include Dynamic Line 1.0L TS1 Rs 10,49,900, with Highline Manual at Rs 12,79,900, Automatic at Rs 14,09,900, Topline Manual at Rs 14,56,900, Automatic at Rs 15,90,900, and Performance Line 1.5L TSI with GT Manual at Rs 14,99,900, and GT-plus DSG at Rs 17,49,900.
Volkswagen Taigun engine
The first locally manufacturing car Taigun is powered by the Volkswagen globally renowned TSI engine technology and is available in a 1.5L engine mated to a 7-speed DSG and 6- speed manual transmission and a 1.0L engine mated to a 6-speed automatic and manual transmission. Almost 12,221 already pre-booked as of now. It come with 4 years warranty and can be extended up to 7 years, which is starting at Rs 11,999. New Volkswagen Taigun comes in 2 engine variants - 1.0L and 1.5L TSI EVO. “Our TSI engine is a high functioning combination of being energetic and economical - two characteristics that do not generally work together in conventional petrol engines,” the company said.

New brand design implementation has been activated across Volkswagen dealerships in India. Volkswagen will be offering the Taigun in 5 colours - Wild Cherry Red, Candy white, Reflex Silver, Carbon Steel Grey, Curcuma Yellow. The MQB A0 IN ensures that the Volkswagen Taigun is made in India and made for India in every way, for every unique hustle. The platform has been designed to meet the new emission requirements for India, the company has mentioned.
Volkswagen Taigun safety features
The MQB platform ensures enhanced safety for all occupants, and it is possible to produce different cars on one line which results in many synergies. The localisation level of the new mid-size SUV is up to 95 per cent. The localisation allows to make changes in platform to adapt to local Indian requirements but the stringent group standards are still maintained, Volkswagen said.
An amalgamation of Stratified Direct Fuel Injection (FSI), downsizing and turbocharging help it in delivering power and torque packed high-tech units with low consumption, the company said.
The New Volkswagen Taigun brings in more than 40 safety features. Equipped with world- class safety features, this SUVW helps you move forward fiercely. These safety features include Electronic Stability Control, up to 6 Airbags, Multi Collision Brakes, Auto Dimming IRVM, Hill Hold Control, 3-point Seatbelts for All Seats, Park Distance Control & Rear-View Camera, Tire Pressure Deflation Warning, ISOFIX Child Seat Mount, and more.
