Volkswagen Prices Hike: Volkswagen Passenger Cars India has announced on Tuesday, December 12, that it will be hiking the price of its vehicles from next year. To offset the adverse impact of rising input and material costs, the German automobile manufacturer is increasing prices by up to 2 per cent across the model range.

The new prices come into effect from January 1, 2024.

"Effective 1st January 2024, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India plans to hike prices by up to 2% across its model range owing to rising input and material costs," a spokesperson of Volkswagen Passenger Cars India said in a statement.

The spokesperson added that while the brand continues to absorb most of the input cost increase, however, some impact will have to be passed on to the end consumers.

Previously, Tata Motors and BMW India announced to increase in the prices of their vehicles in January. Tata Motors plans to hike commercial vehicle prices by up to 3 per cent from January 1. While luxury carmaker BMW India is planning to hike car prices up to 2 per cent from January 1.

Other manufacturers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai Motor India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Honda, and Audi, have also announced their plans to increase the prices of their vehicles from next year.
