Two big Royal Enfield bikes coming, Continental GT 650, Interceptor 650; booking amount Rs 5,000

Select Royal Enfield dealerships across the country have unofficially commenced the bookings for the much awaited Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 with a booking amount of just Rs 5,000. The delivery of the bikes will start from the end of November. However, the bikes may be launched just prior to 2018 Ridermania on November 14. The bikes are expected to be priced under Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom).

Both Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Interceptor 650 have a 648cc parallel-twin engine that is oil-cooled. The bikes also feature counterbalancing tech along with vibe-free and quite a refined engine. With assist and slipper clutch, the powerplant works along with a 6-speed transmission. In both the bikes, which share the same engine makes 47.6PS and 53Nm in terms of power and torque figures.

The bikes feature a large 320mm front and 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS along with traditional telescopic front forks and twin rear shock absorbers. Compared to Continental GT, the Interceptor 650 gets relatively more laidback ergonomics which is apt for touring. However, the Continental GT, for an aggressive stance, sports clip-ons and slightly rear-set footpegs. Again, compared to Interceptor, the fuel tank of Continental GT is slightly smaller by 1.2 litres, whose capacity if 12.5 litres.

Mark Three (Black), Glitter & Dust (Chrome), Orange Crush, Ravishing Red, Silver Spectre and Baker Express (White and Red) are the colours available for the Interceptor and the Continental GT sports Black Magic (metallic black), Ventura Blue (metallic blue), Mister Clean (chrome), Dr Mayhem (black and grey) and Ice Queen (metallic white) colours.
