Revolt Motors has launched its first electric motorcycle in the commuter segment, the Revolt RV1. Within this vast market of over 1.25 crore motorcycles sold annually, the commuter segment dominates with more than 80 lakh units.
The RV1, along with its premium variant RV1+, is available in four vibrant colours and is priced at an introductory Rs 84,990 for the RV1 and Rs 99,990 for the RV1+. These models are aimed at making electric motorcycles more accessible with up to three times lower ownership costs compared to petrol bikes in the same category. The launch also enhances Revolt’s existing lineup, which includes popular models like the RV400 and RV400 BRZ.
Advanced Features and Performance
Setting new standards, the RV1 has an impressive 250 kg payload capacity, far exceeding the 150 kg average of other commuter bikes. Equipped with broader tires for added grip and stability, it is suitable for both urban roads and longer rides. Powered by a mid-motor and premium chain drive system, the RV1 promises smooth acceleration and performance.
Safety features include dual disc brakes, providing superior stopping power uncommon in other commuter motorcycles. The bike also offers multiple speed modes for flexible riding experiences and introduces a reverse mode—a first in its category—to make parking easier in tight spaces.
A 6-inch digital LCD display provides real-time ride data, enhancing connectivity and the riding experience. Sleek LED headlights and taillights add to the aesthetics while improving visibility. The RV1 also offers built-in charger storage, and its fast-charging technology enables the RV1+ to fully charge in just 1.5 hours.
Range, Comfort, and Practicality
The RV1 offers two battery options: a 2.2 kWh battery delivering up to 100 km range, and a 3.24 kWh battery offering up to 160 km range—ideal for long-distance commuting. Both battery options are water-resistant (IP67-rated), ensuring durability in all weather conditions.
Comfort is another highlight, with the longest seat in its category and a frame designed for multiple passengers. Its advanced suspension system ensures a smooth ride on rough terrain, making it a practical and versatile choice for modern riders.
Upgraded RV400 Flagship Model
In addition to the RV1, Revolt Motors has also announced upgrades to its flagship model, the RV400. Enhancements include a new fast charger that charges the bike in just 90 minutes, a reverse mode for easy parking, and a redesigned digital display. The RV400 now offers an extended range of 160 km and features a new color option, Lunar Green. Additional improvements include Bluetooth connectivity and safety features like a leg guard and center stand, ensuring a more enjoyable and secure ride.
At the launch, Anjali Rattan, Chairperson of RattanIndia Enterprises Limited, emphasized Revolt Motors' commitment to sustainability and innovation. “Our goal was to create a budget-friendly motorcycle without compromising on quality, features, or safety. The RV1 combines cutting-edge technology with thoughtful design, delivering a thrilling ride experience for the discerning Indian rider,” she said.
With this launch, Revolt Motors continues to lead the way in India's electric vehicle revolution, offering a more sustainable, high-performance option for everyday commuters.
