Raptee Energy showcased the first look of its electric motorcycle at the Global Investors meet. The meet was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, MK Stalin. The motorcycle is slated for an April 2024 launch.
 
Global Investors Meet (GIM) attracted top-tier startups from Tamil Nadu and global investors interested in the state's burgeoning tech and electric vehicle (EV) sectors.
With participants from 30 nations, the event showcased Tamil Nadu as a hub with robust infrastructure for industries, EV manufacturing, and microchip production, drawing significant attention.
 
Throughout the two-day GIM event, the Tamil Nadu government successfully secured a total investment of Rs 6.6 lakh crore. Dinesh Arjun, CEO and co-founder of Raptee Energy, emphasised the significance of showcasing its motorcycles at such a prestigious event. He stated, "Our debut at the TN GIM couldn't have been better timed."
 
"The fact that we weren't just vehicle integrators but had developed the entire stack in India intrigued everyone. Our indigenous high-voltage powertrain not only delivers stunning torque and consistent top speed but also addresses the long-standing demand for reliable e-motorcycles."

Raptee Energy has already established its first factory in Chennai, spanning 4 acres, with a proposed investment of Rs 85 crore. The facility includes a R&D centre and is projected to produce up to 1 lakh units annually, serving as Raptee's primary production hub for the next 24 months. The factory will employ 470 individuals for manufacturing and design innovation, incorporating a dedicated battery pack assembly line.

Raptee's electric motorcycle offers a powerful drivetrain, reaching a top speed of 135 kilometres per hour and a range of 150 kilometres on a single charge. The vehicle supports hassle-free recharge at any CCS2 charging station, achieving 80 per cent capacity in 45 minutes or covering 40 kilometres in 15 minutes of charging. With rapid acceleration from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds, Raptee's electric motorcycle outpaces its traditional gas-powered counterparts.

About Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet (TNGIM)

GIM- Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet (TNGIM) is a business summit organised by the Government of Tamil Nadu to facilitate domestic and foreign investments in the state. The first of these summits took place in 2015 and then in 2019. The latest meet happened on January 7-8, 2024, at the Chennai Trade Centre.

The focus sectors for investments include automobiles, electronics, information technology, electric vehicles, aerospace, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, textiles, chemicals, food processing, heavy engineering, leather, and fintech.

The previous summit in 2019 facilitated the signing of 304 MoUs for a total investment of Rs.3 lakh crores (US$42 billion). This time, GIM 2024 has been able to double the investments over the last event.
