Raptee.HV T30 electric motorcycle launched; India's first high-voltage EV bike priced at Rs 2.39 lakh
Raptee.HV launches India's first high-voltage electric motorcycle, the T30, priced at Rs 2.39 lakh. With a 200 km range and car-charging compatibility, it revolutionises the EV market for two-wheelers.
Raptee.HV, a Chennai-based electric vehicle (EV) startup, has launched India's first high-voltage electric motorcycle, the T30, priced at Rs 2.39 lakh. This motorcycle utilises advanced technology seen in electric cars, enabling it to deliver performance on par with 250-300cc internal combustion engine (ICE) bikes, but with significantly lower heat generation, the company claims.
High-Voltage technology and universal charging
The Raptee.HV T30 is India’s first electric motorcycle to feature high-voltage technology, making it compatible with the 13,500 CCS2 car charging stations across the country, a number expected to double in the coming year. The motorcycle comes equipped with an onboard charger, ensuring seamless charging at these stations.
Performance and Features
With an IDC-estimated range of 200 km and a real-world range of over 150 km on a single charge, the T30 accelerates from 0 to 60 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. It is designed with an IP67-rated battery pack, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations. Raptee.HV offers an 8-year or 80,000 km battery warranty, aligning with the standards of electric cars.
The T30 is also equipped with advanced software for an enhanced riding experience. Its custom-built operating system, based on automotive-grade Linux, offers a highly responsive and intuitive user interface. The motorcycle will be available in four dynamic colors: Horizon Red, Arctic White, Mercury Grey, and Eclipse Black.
Expansion Plans and Customer Experience
Raptee.HV plans to begin deliveries in Chennai and Bangalore in January 2024, with further expansion to other key cities based on demand for premium motorcycles and EV adoption rates. The company will also open a factory-integrated experience center, "Tech Store.HV," at its Chennai headquarters, where customers can enjoy immersive experiences, including factory tours showcasing the motorcycle production process.
Raptee.HV’s business model will include both traditional brick-and-mortar stores and direct-to-consumer offerings, ensuring a smooth purchasing and ownership journey for customers.
Industry Vision and Growth Strategy
Dinesh Arjun, Co-founder and CEO of Raptee.HV, emphasised that the company's goal is to revolutionise motorcycling with innovative technology. “Our high-voltage technology is a game-changer for the electrification of motorcycles, setting a new standard for the future of two-wheelers,” he stated.
Jayapradeep Vasudevan, Chief Business Officer of Raptee.HV, highlighted the potential for growth in the electric motorcycle segment, noting that India’s motorcycle market is double the size of the scooter market. He also mentioned that Raptee.HV is committed to delivering a superior customer experience through digital and direct-to-consumer offerings.
Funding and Future Plans
Raptee.HV recently closed its Pre-Series A round of fundraising, led by Bluehill Capital and Artha99 Ventures, and is in the final stages of closing its Series A round. These funds will support production scale-up, dealership expansion, and the rollout of the T30 across more states, driving the company’s growth in the EV market.
The launch of the Raptee.HV T30 marks a significant milestone in India's electric mobility sector, setting new standards for high-performance electric motorcycles.
