While the fuel prices have been on the rise, CNG still offers an attractive proposition. A big news is now emerging in this context. You will now be able to run your Activa scooter on CNG. All you have to do is to get one and get it fixed. Get the kit fitted and remain tension free as CNG is significantly cheaper than petrol and diesel.  

Many people have got CNG kits fitted in their Activa. The mileage increases up to 100 km per litre. The price of CNG is around Rs 47-48, currently.   

Honda Activa has launched many models. All the models that have been launched by the company have been petrol versions.  

Activa Scooter CNG Kit Price 

CNG kit maker LOVATO has launched a kit for the Honda Activa scooter which is currently priced around Rs 15,000. The company claims that with this kit, the users will be able to recover this cost in just one year.  

Activa to run on CNG and Petrol Mode 

The CNG fitted Activa will be able to run on these two fuels – petrol and CNG. The two-wheeler will be able to run on petrol when there isn’t enough CNG. There will be a switch, which could be used to switch between the two modes. 

The kit is fitted below the seat. After installing the CNG kit, there will be some graphics that will be displayed to easily identify the two modes.  

Pros and Cons of CNG kit 

While you can fit the CNG kit in your Activa, the cylinder capacity is just 1.2 ltr. You can ride it for 120-130 km. You will need to refill the scooter after this. In case of long drives, you will have to keep the option of petrol.

Experts are also of the view that, though your mileage will increase, the performance may suffer a bit as the pick-up of the vehicle will reduce.
