Bengaluru-based start-up Simple Energy has launched its first electric scooter on India’s 75th Independence Day. The company has mentioned that the e-scooter will have a range of up to 236 km on the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC). The cost of the Simple One electric scooter is Rs 109,999 lakh (ex-showroom price).

Also, the Simple One has four ride modes Eco, Ride, Dash and Sonic, which can accelerate from 0-40 kph in just 2.95 seconds and has a top speed of 105 kilometers per hour. 

The company is currently accepting pre-orders only. The customers can pre-order the Simple One for Rs 1,947. When the brand commences deliveries, the order will then be created. The customer will be notified to complete the purchase depending on the order sequence in their respective city, the company has informed. 

The Simple One can be pre-ordered on the company’s website using the pre-booking option. It is accepting the pre-booking orders PAN India. When the customer chooses to pre-order the Simple One, they will be directed to sign up with us. “You would need to log into your account to check the status of your pre-order from your profile page,” it mentioned. 

As per the current company schedule, it is expected to start the e-scooter deliveries by 1st January 2022. Its lithium-ion battery has a capacity of 4.8 kWh which will take a little under three hours for an 80 per cent charge.

The company’s first showroom would be in Bangalore. Also, it is looking to having at least one experience center in each of the metropolitan cities. Similarly, the Simple One is eligible for Fame 2 subsidy up to Rs 60,000, excluding state subsidies if any. One can pre-order as many as three vehicles.

The Simple One has four standard colors namely are Brazen Black, Azure Blue, Grace White, and Namma Red. Also, each metro-city will have an extra colour to its offering, thus giving four options for the customers to choose from. The color Namma Red is available only in Bangalore.

The Simple One is as powerful as an ICE vehicle with a top speed of 105 kmph. Any such vehicles will need a driver’s license to ride. The company has mentioned that it will allow soon its customers the test ride the vehicle.
