Toyota Rumion G AT: Expanding its Rumion MPV lineup, Toyota has launched a new mid-spec automatic variant. What's new in Toyota Rumion G AT?
The Rumion lineup, comprising S, G, and V trims, now includes the automatic gearbox option across all variants. Previously limited to the base-spec S and top-spec G trims, this update brings uniformity in transmission availability. Consequently, the G AT is priced Rs 1.06 lakh higher than the S AT and Rs 73,000 less than the top-tier V AT.
Feature-wise, the G AT mirrors its manual counterpart. Enhancements over the base S trim include two-tone alloy wheels, dual-tone seat fabrics, keyless entry and start, automatic climate control, a 7.0-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, front fog lights, and Toyota's in-car connectivity suite. However, certain amenities like a leather-wrapped steering, cruise control, side airbags, and a rear camera are absent in the G variant.
Powertrain and specifications of Toyota Rumion
The Toyota Rumion houses Maruti's 103hp, 137Nm, 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, coupled with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. In its CNG avatar, the same engine delivers 88hp and 121.5Nm, exclusively paired with a manual gearbox.
Notably, Toyota has reopened bookings for the Rumion CNG variant, available in the S trim. Last September, the company had temporarily halted bookings due to overwhelming demand, with wait times stretching up to a year in certain regions.
Priced between Rs 10.44 lakh and Rs 13.73 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Rumion MPV competes with models like the Maruti Ertiga, XL6, and the Kia Carens.
