Ford has given an altogether makeover to its Figo car, which was launched four years ago. The updated Ford Figo will be launched in India on March 15. The auto major has already updated Figo Aspire sedan and recently launched the updated new Ford Endeavour SUV. Many dealerships across the country have already started bookings for the upcoming variant, which is already on sale in international markets, with a deposit of Rs 10,000.

The updated Figo will flaunt a fresh face with a new front grille, similar to Ford Freestyle and updated Aspire, besides sporting a new bumper with new fog lamps with chrome insert, said CarToq, adding that  the new version is also expected to look more premium than the current version, showcasing bigger and better-looking 15-inch alloy wheels.

Further, it said the new Figo will also get various updates to give a premium feel in the cabin, besides featuring rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, climate control along with an updated 6.5 inch touchscreen infotainment system with Sync3 technology. The infotainment system will reportedly support Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

The upcoming Ford Figo is likely to witness key change in its engine, and is likely to have Dragon 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that debuted with Freestyle in the Indian market, said the report, adding that the new engine will generate a maximum of 96 PS and a peak torque of 120 Nm. 

While the petrol engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, diesel variants of upcoming Figo are expected to continue with 1.5-litre turbocharged engine that generates a maximum of 100 PS and a peak torque of 215 Nm, it added. 

About automatic transmission, the report cited information, but informed that Ford may also launch a CNG equipped version of the updated Figo as the company has already launched CNG version in Aspire sedan.

The Figo facelift is likely to give a tough competition to Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10. The updated version is expected to carry a expected price tag of around Rs 7 lakhs.
