Among the new auto launches next year, Maruti Suzuki's 2018 Swift was recently spotted undergoing test runs.
Maruti Suzuki Swift, which was unveiled at the 2017 Geneva International Motor Show, is expected to be showcased at Auto Expo 2018.
The popular hatchback was recently spotted completely undisguised during its television commercial shoots, as per News18 report.
The new offering is stated to be based on the similar platform like Baleno, but expected to be 10-15% lighter.
Maruti Suzuki's new HEARTECT platform is assumed to come with 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine.
According to AutoCar, the new Swift will feature wider axle tracks, a lower driver’s hip point, a lower centre of gravity and spring and damper settings closer to Baleno RS, as opposed to the regular Baleno, to make it more user friendly.
The new car is expected to have overall cabin space up by 25% and luggage space higher from 200 litres to 254 litres.
The new Swift is expected to be priced between Rs 5 lakh and Rs 8 lakh in ex-showroom Delhi.
Once launched in India, it will compete against Hyundai Grand i10, Tata Tigor and Nissan Micra.
