Maruti Suzuki sales decline marginally in February
The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday reported a marginal drop in total wholesales at 1,64,056 units in February.
The company had sold 1,64,469 units in February 2021, MSI said in a regulatory filing.

Last month, the company's domestic sales slipped 8.46 per cent to 1,40,035 units as against 1,52,983 units in February 2021, it added.
"The shortage of electronic components had a minor impact on the production of vehicles which are primarily sold in the domestic market. The company took all possible measures to minimise the impact," MSI said.
Sales of mini cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso, fell 17.81 per cent to 19,691 units as compared to 23,959 in the same month last year.
Similarly, sales in the compact segment, including models such as Swift, Celerio, Ignis, Baleno and Dzire, slumped 3.38 per cent to 77,795 units as against 80,517 cars in February 2021.
Sales of mid-sized sedan Ciaz increased to 1,912 units as compared to 1,510 units in February 2021.
Utility vehicle sales, including Vitara Brezza, S-Cross and Ertiga, declined to 25,360 units as compared to 26,884 vehicles in the year-ago month, MSI said.
Exports jumped over two-fold to 24,021 units as against 11,486 units in the corresponding month last year, the company said.
Ashok Leyland total sales rise 7% in February
Hinduja flagship firm Ashok Leyland on Tuesday reported a 7 per cent rise in commercial vehicle sales to 14,657 units in February.
The company had sold 13,703 units in the same month last year, Ashok Leyland said in a statement.
Domestic sales were up 4 per cent at 13,281 units against 12,776 units in February 2021, it added.
Medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales grew 16 per cent to 8,280 units compared to 7,114 units in the year-ago month.
Sales of light commercial vehicles in the domestic market were down 12 per cent at 5,001 units against 5,662 units in February 2021, the company said.
Toyota Kirloskar wholesales dip 38% in February
Toyota Kirloskar Motor on Tuesday said its sales declined by 38 per cent to 8,745 units in February.
The company had dispatched 14,075 units to dealers in the domestic market in February 2021.
"The overall sentiment in the market continues to remain positive as we witness a steady surge in demand trends. This has also led to a consistent rise in order bookings, especially for the Innova Crysta as well as the Fortuner and as a next step, we are looking forward to cater to the pending orders on our side," TKM Associate Vice President (Sales and Strategic Marketing) Atul Sood said in a statement.
Hyundai Motor India's total sales fall 14% in February
Hyundai Motor India on Tuesday reported a 14 per cent decline in total sales at 53,159 units in February.
The company had sold 61,800 units in the same month last year, Hyundai Motor India said in a statement.
Domestic sales were down 14.6 per cent to 44,050 units last month as against 51,600 units in February 2021.
Exports declined by 10.7 per cent to 9,109 units last month as compared to 10,200 units in the year-ago period, the auto major said.
"As the industry continues to grapple with the semiconductor shortage situation, the company along with its partners is continuously exploring alternatives to ensure customers can take delivery of their most loved Hyundai cars at the earliest," it added.
