Bharat-NCAP Crash Test: Homegrown automaker Mahindra & Mahindra on Thursday, November 14, announced that three of its most popular models – Thar ROXX, XUV 3XO and XUV400 – have secured the prestigious 5-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat-NCAP). This achievement highlights Mahindra’s dedication to delivering world-class SUVs that offer exceptional safety features without compromising on performance, as per the official release.
Among these, the Thar ROXX stands out as a trailblazer, becoming the first body-on-frame SUV in India to earn a 5-star Bharat-NCAP rating. It achieved an impressive 31.09/32 in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45/49 in child occupant protection (COP), marking the highest score ever by any internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle in Bharat-NCAP testing. The Thar ROXX's rugged design is paired with advanced safety technologies like six airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), and a Level 2 ADAS suite, ensuring that drivers and passengers are well-protected in all conditions.

The XUV 3XO, Mahindra's latest C-SUV, also delivered outstanding results, with a score of 29.36/32 in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 43/49 in child occupant protection (COP). This compact SUV offers a comprehensive array of safety features, including six airbags, a 360-degree surround view system, and advanced driver assistance systems like Lane Keep Assist and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). The XUV 3XO sets new standards for safety in the compact SUV segment.

Meanwhile, the XUV400, Mahindra’s first electric SUV, has earned recognition for its safety credentials as well, scoring 30.37/32 for adult occupant protection and 43/49 for child occupant protection. The XUV400 combines the robustness of Mahindra’s engineering with the safety of cutting-edge technologies, making it one of the safest electric vehicles in India.
