Kawasaki has ceased production of the iconic Ninja 400 in India, marking the end of an era mere months after introducing the Ninja 500 to the market.

Arriving on the Indian scene in 2018 with a price tag of Rs 4.69 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the Kawasaki Ninja 400 swiftly gained a devoted following. Diverging from its predecessor, the locally adapted Ninja 300, the Ninja 400 stood as a distinct model despite international discontinuation of the former. However, with the implementation of BS6 emissions standards in 2020, the Ninja 400 temporarily exited the market, only to resurface in 2022.

Ninja 500

Taking cues from its predecessor, the Ninja 500 inherits much from the Ninja 400, offering a modified 399cc engine. Priced at Rs 5.24 lakh, the Ninja 500 enters the market at the same price point as its predecessor. As the Ninja 400 bids adieu, Kawasaki facilitated its departure by offering lucrative discounts in the preceding months, streamlining the transition to the Ninja 500.
