The association in its July 2021 report says that auto retails have now started narrowing the deficit when compared to pre-covid months. When compared to July 2019, the gap reduces to low double digits of negative 13 per cent, FADA pointed out.

The auto dealers have raised concern that semi-conductor shortage is now becoming a deep routed problem for the passenger vehicles (PV) segment which is now above the pre-pandemic mark.

Adding further, FADA said in a report that PV for the first time has reached above pre-covid levels by growing 24 per cent, while the tractor retails already above pre-covid levels during the last month.

FADA also says booking and inquiry levels improving across categories in August and the tractor segment to see a boost due to normal monsoon and sowing season.

FADA is the apex national body of Automobile Retail Industry in India engaged in the sale, service, and spares of 2/3 Wheelers, Passenger Cars, UVs, Commercial Vehicles (including buses and trucks) and Tractors.
