Kinetic Green is an OEM company focused on EVs. The company will bring a new electric version of Luna in India soon. Zee Business' Swati Khandelwal Jain spoke to Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder & CEO of Kinetic Green, to know what the outlook is of the company for future expansion.
According to Motwani, EV is the future of India. EVs are going to lower the pollution levels in the country, and with increased fuel prices, EVs are going to help India decrease their expenses on fuel.
Kinetic Green is going to be the leader in the EV sector in India in the coming years, she claimed.
Kinetic Energy and Kinetic Engineering are already into EV Chasis and supplying drop boxes.
Kinetic Luna Electric was the first product of Kinetic Energy. Kinetic Engineering made major investments in machine capabilities to bring gearbox, and now the company is manufacturing gearbox, gear shaft engines, transmission systems, etc., for other companies.
"Kinetic Energy is now embarked up on a massive expansion program to manufacture, develop and sell axles for electric 3-wheelers, gearboxes for 3-wheelers, chasis for electric 3-wheeler and 2-wheeler and, I am proud to say that the company had made good progress," said Motwani.
She added that the expansion would be based in Ahmednagar. The company plans on Rs 50 crore - Rs 70 crore incremental investment in the next 5 years.
The government is focused on scaling two and three electric wheelers because 80 per cent of the total EV users in India are using the two or three EVs.
E-rickshaw, E-cart and L5 are the major three products of Kinectic Green. The company's supply chain is 100 per cent based in India.
The company's vehicle is qualified for FRAME-II policy. The vehicles are made for India and made in India.
The demand is more than supply, around 250 crore two-wheelers get sold in India. And in 10 years, the 50 per cent market share of the two-wheeler market will be occupied by EVs, Motwani claimed.
