Honda Cars India (HCIL) today reported a 4.83 per cent decline in its domestic sales to 14,838 units in January.

The company had sold 15,592 units in the domestic market in January 2017, HCIL said in a statement.

Last month, the company sold 422 units of small car Brio, 2,257 units of premium hatchback Jazz, 2,836 units of compact sedan Amaze and 3,968 units of mid-sized sedan City.

The company also sold 4,273 units of its compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) WR-V. While SUV BR-V saw sales of 1,071 units, those of SUV CR-V stood at 11 units.

In addition, it exported a total of 398 units during the month under review. 

HMSI sales up 33% in January at 5,17,732 units

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) today reported a 33 per cent jump in total sales at 5,17,732 units in January.

The company sold 3,89,313 units in January 2017, HMSI said in a statement.

In the domestic market, the company posted 33 per cent jump in sales to 4,88,809 units in January 2018, as against 3,67,972 units in the year-ago month.

Besides, the company said it has surpassed 5 million sales mark in just 10 months, selling a total of 51,63,559 units during April 2017 to January 2018.

"With almost 50 per cent of two-wheeler demand coming from rural and semi-urban India, Budget 2018 should have a positive impact on customer sentiments," HMSI Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing Yadvinder Singh Guleria said.

Exports during the month grew 36 per cent to 28,923 units as against 21,341 units in January 2017.

TVS Motor January sales up 31% at 2,71,801 units

TVS Motor Company today reported a 31 per cent increase in total sales at 2,71,801 units in January.

The company had sold a total of 2,07,059 units in the same month of the previous year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.

Total two-wheeler sales were at 2,62,995 units last month as against 2,02,209 units in January last year, a growth of 30.1 per cent.

TVS Motor said its total exports grew 25.5 per cent in January at 42,802 units as compared with 34,110 units in the same month last year.
