Maruti Suzuki e VITARA: Automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki is all set to introduce its first eBorn electric SUV, the e VITARA, in India. According to the official release, the company will showcase the production-ready e VITARA at the highly anticipated Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. However, ahead of the official introduction, Maruti Suzuki teased the first look of the electric vehicle on Friday, December 20.

With this global model, manufactured in India and has already been unveiled by Suzuki Motor Corporation at the Milan Motor Show in Italy, the company is poised to transform electric mobility in India. 

Speaking on the announcement, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, expressed the company's commitment to sustainable mobility. “The e VITARA is a testament of our unwavering commitment to sustainable mobility and technological innovation. With decades of automotive expertise, we have combined advanced electric technology with a customer-first approach to deliver something truly transformative," Banerjee said.

He further emphasised the company’s approach to simplifying the EV ownership experience. "At Maruti Suzuki, we have always believed that to promote EV adoption, we need to create a holistic ecosystem that simplifies customers' battery electric vehicle ownership journey,” he said.

Company's Broader Vision for the Future

Banerjee also outlined the company's broader vision for the future. He said, "A critical barrier to the adoption of EVs is the lack of accessible charging. To tackle this issue, we are committed to introduce a reliable and comprehensive EV ecosystem alongside the e VITARA."

This will "make EVs accessible, convenient, and appealing to a broader set of customers, and this is exactly what we have set out to achieve with the e VITARA,” he added.
